Mustard Seed Mountain and its vendors are a powerful, community-driven solution to the problem of homelessness. Our vendors earn their way out of individual situations through a collaboration of storytelling, local business partners, and their own hard work. Use these four steps to be a part of the solution.
Meet Vendors
Vendors – the people who sell the newspaper – are at the core of Mustard Seed Mountain’s mission. Our vendors play an active role in the management of MSM, meeting regularly to discuss issues of concern.
Buy a Paper
With the money made selling the newspaper, vendors are able to secure basic needs, independence, and dignity, and work toward obtaining housing. Vendors buy papers for a quarter and sell them for $1, keeping all income and donations for each sale.
Get Informed
Mustard Seed Mountains ties its editorial to the mission of deconstructing the current narrative surrounding homelessness in an effort to humanize the unhoused and destigmatize the hardships they face. We are a member of INSP, our global organization of street papers which provides us with content relevant to social justice, homelessness, and street community around the world.
Take Action

Mission
Mustard Seed Mountain street paper amplifies the voice and provides economic opportunity for people experiencing homelessness, poverty, and misunderstanding in Wheeling, WV and the Ohio Valley.
WE’RE BIASED - for the poor, working, and misunderstood. Like every news source, Mustard Seed Mountain is biased; but we own it. We choose to favor the stories of people who can’t pay to get their perspectives and interests in the news, who have to work, and who are more than society gives them credit for. Whether it’s who is featured, who is writing, or who is making money, MSM’s street paper is set up to benefit the people who can use it most.
OUR NONPROFIT
Mustard Seed Mountain is a project of HoH-Share, Inc., a 501(c)(3) charitable organization that seeks to creatively meet the needs of the poor and marginalized through the Corporal and Spiritual Works of Mercy and The Seven Catholic Social Teachings. We invest in creative solutions that rise up from those who need them. We work in partnership with the Catholic Worker Houses of the Northern Panhandle of WV and community members experiencing poverty.
